My chess set has braved wedlock and held up with children

The item that I’ve held throughout my living and criss-crossed the country with, is a tiny electronic chess set. It works on 2 AA electric batteries and has 8 different skill stages. Of course after forty three years the white pieces are a fleck yellowed and I’ve lost a bishop along the way, but mostly and an exchange of electric batteries once in a while it has lasted with me since I was twelve years of age.
My chess set has inhabited in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and even Alaska. It weathered wedlock and held up with children. It stays patiently in a closet for me to take time for a game. Of course I’ve never done it justness, only ever playing to skill stage 5 and a lot of the time being adequate at grade three or 4, but it has been a steady friend. It’s hard to believe a chess set could be built in 1964 and hold up until today, but it has and it’s still here primed to play!
