So what am I up to here? Who am I and why should you care? Well, I will certainly try to clear that up for you and maybe you’ll stick around to check me out.
My name is Adam and I am a writer. A storyteller if you will. I am currently trying to hawk my wares to Hollywood and the Comic industries and when I am not doing that I contribute creatively to the website www.collectiondx.com, a Japanese and Domestic toy news and review site.
I lived in Hawaii from 1977 to 1986 and grew up on a steady diet of Sentai heroes,Ultraman, Godzilla, Battle of the Planets, Speed Racer, all THREE seasons of Starblazers, Voltron and Robotech all in first run airings. Giant robots and the Japanese toy and anime sensibility where infused in me at a young age, long before you kids knew what Akira was, and I used to walk uphill to school, both ways, in the tropical heat with no shoes.
But of course I had my share of domestic influences as well. G.I.Joe, M.A.S.K., Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Tron, The Black Hole, Transformers, and of course every major and a lot of minor sci-fi, fantasy, action-adventure to come out in the 80’s as well as late night sci-fi marathons of classic films with my Dad like Invaders From Mars and Forbidden Planet to name a few.
After high school I tried my hand at a lot of different professions from managing a multi-million dollar a year business in a major mall to DJ in an Exotic Bar and everything in-between, those where interesting years and the combination of those experiences has left me with some interesting tales to tell.
I eventually settled into a secure job at a big corporate media provider with good pay and benefits but it wasn’t what I wanted to be doing. I wanted to be making content not selling it. With the support of friends and my significant other I left that job to pursue my more creative endeavors.
This brings me to my site here, Atom’s Antics. I will be posting my reviews and thoughts on media, TV, film, and technology. This is just the beginning, I do believe on-line niche content is the future of media and I want to be involved so consider this all a work in progress as I add and try new things. I promise, I will have new content weekly and I do appreciate you looking.
If you know my work at www.collectiondx.com I will continue to contribute very regularly there with the same relevant content. This is a place for me to spin off on those other topics that may not be CollectionDX oriented and appreciate the support.
