Diversifying Your Google Sniper Techniques
George Brown’s Google Sniper product launched on October 15 of 2009, and has been achieving a high volume of sales since its release. It teaches readers how to create an empire of small websites that pull in money. Google Sniper is great, but it’s not perfect. There’s one critical area that George chooses to skip over, but this article fills in the gap.
The basics of Google Sniper involve picking a low competition keyword, writing content to fit that keyword theme, using good on page SEO, and finishing up with a review or story to market your product. George pretty much covers everything you need to know about those areas in Google Sniper. However, the system revolves around the assumption that your chosen keyword’s level of competition is low enough that you will rank naturally without engaging in any link building.
Whether you’re new or old to internet marketing, I’m sure you know its not always that easy to find these keyword gems. Often, a Google Sniper site made by a newbie will land on the second or third page of Google, which rarely sees enough traffic to get any sales.
What can we do to combat this?
Any professional internet marketer will tell you to just build some links. However, due to George’s aversion to link building, he only discusses this on a cursory level in Google Sniper. Given that issue, I thought I’d give you a quick primer on some basic ways of link building here.
1. Social Bookmarking: George covers this well in Google Sniper. It is worth noting that most bookmarks do not pass page rank due to the no-follow tag.
2. Link Wheels: This is where you create a chain of web 2.0 properties together that all point back to your site. Google “linkwheel” for more information.
3. Profile Links: Many high page rank sites allow users to create personal profiles on their site, and often include an area where you can place a link. MTV.com and TED.com are good examples of this type of site.
4. Blog Commenting: Find blogs that you can leave smart, relevant comments on, and post using your anchor text as your name and don’t forget to put in your URL!
5. Article Submission: Write good articles and submit them to good article directories. These directories will allow you to include a resource box at the end of the article where you can link back to your site. In addition to providing you with a powerful link, article directories will often help you to generate additional traffic as they usually rank quite well in the search engines.
The 5 techniques above will give you the foundation of link building, which you can use to increase your Google rankings no matter how tough your competition is. Now that you know the basics of linkbuilding, you’ve patched the only leak in the Google Sniper system and you’re ready to go. Get to building those sniper sites and get your slice of the pie!
