This article is going to be about conversational hypnosis and how it can be dangerous when the wrong people use it.If you can apply conversational hypnosis properly you can control peoples minds and make them do whatever you want. Derren Brown is a famous hypnotist in the UK. He’s been featured on many national TV programs showing off his skills. One of the most amazing things I’ve seen him do is hypnotize a random person and then make them withdraw ?5000 from the bank for him. The person in question went ahead and got the money totally oblivious to the fact that they had been hypnotized. He then put them to sleep and told them that in 10 seconds they will wake up and have no memory of the last 10 minutes of their life. When the person who had been hypnotized watched the film they were in total shock and had no memory of the event. This is an extreme example however. Derren brown is one of the best hypnotists in the world. Unfortunately however conversational hypnosis is now being used for criminal activity. In America a man was stealing from the tills of shops and he was doing this by hypnotizing the people working there. Once he had successfully hypnotized them he would ask them to fill up his bag with the money and then he would calmly walk out. Staff became aware of this scam when the tills didn’t add up at the end of the week and once they had watched the CCTV footage it became obvious what was going on. There are many other stories of hypnotists using their skills to steal money or to scam people out of money. It is a perfect crime because unlike using violence for crime, there’s no noise or commotion so it is very plausible that you could go unnoticed. I personally have been learning conversational hypnosis as a hobby. It is great fun to learn and put into practice but you need to be careful not to let the power go to your head and to make sure you stay on the right side of the law.
