Back pain how to cope when running a business
Operating your own personal company can be very challenging, on good days you will feel on top of the world, thriving with eagerness, but we all have those bad days that require our inner most strength and determination in order to get through the day.
My personal experience of running a business has been what I call a “rewarding rollercoaster”. I always encourage people to start a business doing something they enjoy. It’s a well-known fact, if we love doing something, we will put our heart and soul into it. If you get enjoyment form your work, the bad days will be better to overcome.
I always imagined working at home to be a wonderful easy life! Boy was I wrong. Running a home based business can be be extremely demanding. You need to ensure there is a healthy home life and work balance, quite difficult if you love your work I can tell you! My office is attached to my house and I spend 90% of my time in the office. I guess this is one problem with doing a job you love…you never want to leave it!
As well as getting a good work and home life balance, if you work at home you have to consider the environment you work in. I have severe scoliosis and suffer a great deal of back pain as a result of severity of the curve and the compression on the rest of my body. As I’ve had Scoliosis since the age of 2, I adapted my posture and means of doing things appropriately. My stubbornness hasn’t necessarily helped me. I recently had an impartial expert come to my office and inspect my equipment. Unsurprisingly my position at my workstation wasn’t good; they spelled out how my posture was in fact causing lower back pain. I have now changed my chair, desk and other equipment so that i’m not putting extra strain on my body.
I have never before considered getting advice regarding back pain relief. I always had the mindset that i just had to deal with it.
I am so happy I’ve started looking into scoliosis and back pain in general. I am not a lover of pain relief in the form of pills so to find some online experts has been an enlightening experience.
Managebackpain.com is the best online resource. You can tell that the lady who runs it knows her stuff and even more importantly ‘enjoys what she does’. Passion is everything in relation to business.
